CASE STUDY
Independent Living Ecosystem
The ConnectedLife ecosystem is an all-encompassing service that safeguards, empowers, and connects people across distance. The service involved a full-fledged redesign of the company, its pre-existing apps, and creation of new digital services and features.
ABOUT THE COMPANY
ConnectedLife started as a social enterprise tech startup with capabilities in smart living, social innovation, active ageing, and the Internet of Things to address the needs of a fast-growing global aging population.
HISTORY
The environmental and social responsibility initiative, formerly known as Silverline, began as a project to empower the elderly through refurbished smartphones and senior-friendly apps.
GROWTH AND EVOLUTION
The app evolved from a simple senior mobile app to a comprehensive remote health and wellness platform. User testing from clinical trials and pilot studies confirmed the popularity of the dark theme preference even as the features of the app grew.
My role gradually expanded beyond product design, enabling me to contribute to the company's product strategy and operational aspects. It was a truly humbling experience that gave me a deeper appreciation for business, entrepreneurship, logistics, and startup culture.
"Ageing is a deeply cultural issue. It impacts our social fabric and the systems and structures that make up our cities, our governments and our world."
